Test 1. Purple Fringe/ Resolution

This group of photos reflects the differences of photography ability of different phones. Images taken by Xiaomi 5 and Axon 7 have the similar style. All items in this group shows no purple fringe.
From this group of photos, it is evident that ZTE Axon 7 equipped with a 20MP lens is more excel in capturing details. Xiaomi 5 is a little bit inferior compared with Axon 7. However, images shot by Samsung S7, iPhone SE and Huawei P9 with 12MP lens are little blurred when being amplied.
Test 2. White Balance
This group of photos is captured indoor. All of them deliver sound performance. In comparison, the white balance of iPhone SE is the most accurate. Background color of the four pictures are modified by the camera.
This group of photos aims to test the accuracy of white balance under low-light environment. Among them, white balance of iPhone SE and Huawei P8 are accurate. Pictures shot by these two device looks real and vivid. Colors taken by Xiaomi 5 and ZTE Azon 7 tens to be cool while those shot by Samsung Galaxy S7 are warm.
Test 3. Color Differences
Color difference is known as color saturation. From the above group of pictures, we can find that color saturations among them are not quite different. From the red field, it is obvious that the color saturations of Huawei P9 and ZTE Axon 7 are high. Differences among Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone SE and Xiaomi 6 are not that obvious.
As for this group, we can find that color saturations of iPhone SE, Huawei P9 and Xiaomi 5 are high. Saturations of Samsung S7 and ZTE Axon 7 is looks more real.
Test 4. Macro Performance
Different from the abovementioned tests, the quality of macro photography is determined by the focusing distance and the focusing speed. In addition, the aperture will also influence the blur effect of the background.
From this group, it is clear that the blur effect of Huawei P9 is the most obvious. Blur effect and the softness of Xiaomi 5 and ZTE AXON 7 are also wonderful. However, the softness of the color is inferior. iPhone SE delivers the worst performance in terms of softness and blur effect.
Test 5. Imaging in the Dark
Imaging in the dark can be the most challenged part of a smartphone. Nowadays, some new technologies are developed for night photography, for example, unit pixel area increase, laxer focusing, optical anti-vibration, manual photography and prolonged exposure time.
From this group of pictures, it is easy to find that Samsung S7 is the best in terms of night photography because of the sufficient light inflow, anti-glare ability and more. Huawei P9 and ZTE Axon 7 are of about the same strengthen to control the light inflow and capture details. Under comparison, iPhone SE and Xiaomi 5 seems inferior.
Test 6. Photography Experience
Snap Speed: The snap speed is an important factor that influences the photography experience. Snap speed of Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone SE, Huawei P9, Xiaomi 5 and ZTE Axon respectively stands at 1.7 seconds, 2 seconds, 2.1 seconds, 2.6 seconds and 2.5 seconds.
Quick Activation: Camera app of Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone SE, Huawei P9, Xiaomi 5 and ZTE Axon supports quick activation. In Galaxy S7, you can double press the Home button to enter the camera app, which is very easy. In iPhone SE, you just need to slide the camera app icon to activate the camera app. Camera activation in Huawei P9 is much easier. You can run it by double pressing the Volume Down key, which takes 1.5 seconds only. In Xiaomi 5 and iPhone SE, you need to wake up the phone and slide the camera app to launch it.
