Android Wears: Cellular Support Comes to LG Watch Urbane

--By On November 16, 2015

Android big news here! Google officially announces cellular support for Android Wear, powering the watch independently runs, without the companion - Android phone. And cellular will firstly come to the upcoming LTE, LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, according to Google's official blog.

Android Wear Cellular

When Android wear has cellular connection, there is no need to worry about Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. Even though you are out of range, Android wear can automatically connect to 3G or 4G (LTE) network, allowing the watch works even without an available Android phone nearby. The watch can be used to send and receive messages, perform apps, and more. And you can call with your Android wear. This will distinguish LG Watch Urbane LTE from its first generation because of cellular support.

Of course, a SIM and extra fee for cellular are required. Access to get LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is already opened for consumers in the U.S. market – They can order the watch from AT&T and Verizon.

Currently, cellular has not yet come to Apple Watch. Could we speculate that watch OS has been surpassed by Google Android Wear? Why not just wait and see what will happen next?
